Denchargi is built to respect your privacy. We don’t run ads, and we don’t track you. This policy explains what data the app uses and why.
Who we are #
Denchargi (“the app”, “we”) is an app for finding and contributing e-bike charging points. You can contact us at denchargi@lauver.dev.
What the app uses #
Location #
With your permission, the app uses your device’s precise location to center the map on where you are and to show nearby charging points. Your location is used on your device for this purpose and is not collected by us, not linked to your identity, and not used to track you. You can browse the map without granting location access.
OpenStreetMap sign-in #
Browsing, searching, and saving spots do not require an account. To add, verify, or report charging points, you sign in with your own OpenStreetMap account using OpenStreetMap’s secure OAuth login. The app stores the resulting access token securely on your device so you stay signed in; we never see your OpenStreetMap password. Signing in and using OpenStreetMap is governed by the OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy.
Contributions to OpenStreetMap #
When you add, verify, or report a charging point, that edit is submitted to live OpenStreetMap and becomes part of the public, open map. Like all OpenStreetMap edits, contributions are public and attributed to your OpenStreetMap account. Please don’t include personal information in the data you submit.
Data we collect #
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, or personal profiles. The app does not sell or share your data. Map and place data are fetched from public services to make the app work:
- OpenStreetMap / Overpass — to load nearby charging points.
- Nominatim — to turn a place name you search into a location.
- OpenStreetMap API — to read your sign-in info and submit your contributions (only when signed in).
These requests include the technical information needed to serve them (such as your IP address, as with any internet request) and are handled under those services’ own privacy policies.
Children #
Denchargi is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy #
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
